¶ Webmasters and Domain Admins are issued shell accounts which cannot be fully accessed via HTTP. Although many, if not most, HTML editors do include the FTP protocol - thereby allowing one to publish their web site from within the editor - they still do not (nor should they) allow full access to the user's ~home directory but limit the user to only the ~/public_html sub-directory which holds the web site pages. ¶ There are zillions of free FTP clients but many are not up to standards, or just plain buggy. At the upper right, however, is a download link to FileZilla - a free, full-featured, open-source, multi-platform FTP client program that works extremely well. Below the image is the host/port info required in order to connect to our FTP server. ¶ Although unsecure and not very useful either, it is possible to view your ~home directory simply by logging in through a browser. You will not have write-access, however.
